7 Oral Health Tips For Busy People - Dental Health Week

7 Oral Health Tips For Busy People - Dental Health Week at Maven Dental Group

To celebrate Dental Health Week and the importance of maintaining great oral health, Maven Dental Group has put together a list that includes 7 oral health tips for busy people.

1. Visit your dentist every 6 months

Visiting your dentist every 6 months will help identify any problems you may not be able to see in the mirror.

TIP : Rebook your next appointment while you are still in the practice to ensure you keep up to date with your oral health.

2. Brush your teeth 2 x a day

'Brush', don't 'Scrub'.

TIP : A good electric toothbrush will get into hard to clean places and also provides a 2 minute countdown.

3. Floss your teeth at least once a day

Start your daily oral health routine by flossing your teeth.

TIP : Carry floss in your wallet or handbag so you always have some on hand.

4. Limit in-between meal snacking

Snacking in between meals can increase the rate of tooth decay by increasing acid production.

TIP : Limit sugar and acidic foods in your diet.

5. Chew sugar free gum

Sugar free gum will assist in saliva stimulation which helps protect teeth from decay.

TIP : Choose an acid neutralising gum to protect your teeth's enamel.

6. Make holidays count

Children also need to visit the dentist regularly.

TIP : Use the school holidays as an opportunity for those all-important clean and exam visits.

7. Don't let your guard down

Stay active and healthy.

TIP : If you play a contact sport, a customised mouthguard could save you time and money fixing broken teeth.
