Dr David O'Dowling
Booragoon Dental Clinic welcomed Associate Dentist, Dr David O'Dowling, to the practice in early 2008. Dr O'Dowling, originally from Ireland, graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) from the National University of Ireland (University College of Cork) before moving to Australia in 2006.
Dr O'Dowling's studies saw him awarded the Noel Hayes Award for Oral Surgery and an award from the British Undergraduate Society for Restorative Dentistry. He was also accepted as a member of the Student Clinicians of the American Dental Association for his project work on molar/incisor hypomineralisation.
Within the practice, Dr O'Dowling holds a strong interest in the areas of surgical procedures, including implant placement and wisdom teeth extraction, and cosmetic dentistry (veneers, crowns and bridges). His passion for the dental industry has seen him play an active role in his professional development, which has seen him gain qualifications in both implant placement and Invisalign.
Outside of dentistry, Dr O'Dowling is a keen sportsman. In his youth, he has represented Ireland on an international level in swimming, having attended the European Youth Olympics. Currently he has a love for Crossfit and in 2011 participated in the world games as part of a team.
