Dr Richard Grant-Thomson joined the Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team as a principal dentist. Originally graduating as a dentist from the University of Queensland in 1991, Dr Grant-Thomson began his dental career in the Royal Australian Air Force as a dental officer where he worked for 10 years. During this time he discovered a keen interest for periodontology and in 2002 completed his specialist qualifications at the University of Queensland.
Before joining the Brisbane practice, Dr Grant-Thomson gained a wealth of experience working across a number of roles including, specialist for the Department of Defence, lecturer for the University of Queensland Dental School Postgraduate Periodontics program and examiner for the Griffith University Postgraduate Periodontics program.
Passionate about the field of periodontology, Dr Grant-Thomson has a special interest in periodontal regenerative surgery and dental implants. Even during the completion of his specialist qualifications, he was awarded the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation prize for his publication on periodontal treatment in 2001.
