Dr Peter Chen

Dr Peter Chen graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007 with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours). Before completing his post graduate training in periodontics at Griffith University, Dr Chen spent 5 years working across a number of community health centres and private practices in Melbourne.

Passionate about periodontology, Dr Chen has completed research into the osseointegration of dental implants in osteoporotic bone. Additionally, his interest in this field has seen him as a sessional clinical supervisor teaching undergraduate dental students at both the University of Melbourne and Griffith University.

Dr Jennifer Kraatz

Dr Jennifer Kraatz was welcomed to the Cotton Tree Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team in 2018 as a periodontist. Dr Kraatz originally graduated from Griffith University in 2009 and began her career working as a general dentist in both public and private sectors in Queensland and Tasmania, before settling down on the Sunshine Coast. Following this she went on to complete her periodontal specialist training, becoming a qualified Periodontist.

Dr Jennifer Kraatz was welcomed to the Cotton Tree Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team in 2018 as a periodontist. Dr Kraatz originally graduated from Griffith University in 2009 and began her career working as a general dentist in both public and private sectors in Queensland and Tasmania, before settling down on the Sunshine Coast. Following this she went on to complete her periodontal specialist training, becoming a qualified Periodontist.

Over the course of her career, Dr Kraatz has also spent time working as a clinical supervisor and lecturer at Griffith University and Oral Health Services Tasmania where she taught undergraduate students in the areas of general dentistry, dental implants and periodontology. Additionally, she has presented at the International Association for Dental Research, worked with General Practice Training Tasmania to train general medical practitioners in basic dental procedures and worked as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Tasmania.

Dr Kraatz is a member of the Australian Dental Association (has been the state councillor and treasurer), the Australian Society of Periodontology and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontics.

Alan Timmerman

Alan Timmerman graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy in 2010 and after gaining five years' experience across both general and specialist practices joined the Cotton Tree Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team. Through the earlier years of his career Alan developed a passion for periodontics and spent three years working in a specialist practice.

Outside of dentistry Alan enjoys traveling and getting outdoors to go snowboarding and fishing.

Amanda Loo Gee
Hygienist

Amanda Loo Gee

Amanda Loo Gee graduated in 2011 from the Oral Health Therapy program at the University of Queensland.

She has 8 years of experience working in public dental practices and specialist dental practices in Gympie, Brisbane and Toowoomba. Amanda has recently moved to Periocare in Cotton Tree (2020) and is excited about providing the best care for her patients.

Amanda’s passions include cooking and spending time with family and friends. She is also learning to play the piano and hopes one day she will be able to play Ludwig van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
