Oral Health Therapist
Emma Bowtell was welcomed to the Life Dental practice in 2016 as a friendly, caring Oral Health Therapist. Emma initially began her career working as a dental assistant, working across general dentistry, endodontic and periodontal practices. During this time she discovered her love for dentistry and went on to complete her Bachelor of Oral Health through the University of Queensland.
After receiving her qualifications she returned to periodontal practice as a hygienist where she assisted, before joining Life Dental as the Oral Health Therapist in March 2016. In her role she is passionate about giving patients pleasant and comfortable dental experiences.
Having worked in a specialist periodontal practice, Emma holds clinical interests in treating and maintaining gum disease. Her other interests include treating children and helping them through their dental appointments that can often seem daunting.
Emma’s dual qualifications as a dental hygienist and dental therapist means she can carry out: x-rays, gentle & thorough cleans for patients of all ages, fluoride applications, and routine dentistry on children aged 0-17 (including exams, scale & cleans, preventive fissure sealants, fillings, and removal of baby teeth).
Committed to her furthering her skills and knowledge Emma regularly completes continuing professional development courses – her most recent being the Paediatric update in 2017.
Outside of work, Emma is a foodie! Either cooking at home, or out and about finding her new favourite restaurant.
