Veterans Affairs Accepted at Maven Dental Caloundra
All of Maven Dental Group’s practices accept Department of Veterans' Affairs, whose mission is to support those who have served in the defence of our nation and commemorate their service and sacrifice. Department of Veterans' Affairs supports veterans, war widows/widowers, eligible defence and police force members, and their dependants and carers, with commemoration, compensation, health care and income support.
Key DVA health initiatives include:
Coordinated Veterans’ Care Program (CVC) – CVC aims to improve the wellbeing and quality of care for chronically ill gold card holders.
Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS) – This service provides free and confidential, nation-wide counselling and support for war and service-related mental health conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance and anger. Support is also available for relationship and family matters that can arise due to the unique nature of military service.
Men’s Health Peer Education (MHPE) – This initiative raises awareness about men’s health issues by encouraging all members of the veteran and ex-service community to share the responsibility for managing their health.
Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) – The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program provides low-level home care services to eligible veterans and war widows and widowers.
The Right Mix – A website providing drinking assessment tools, guides to low-risk drinking, and alcohol-related information for veterans and health professionals.
At Ease – The At Ease website is designed to help you, or someone you know, recognise signs of mental health problems and act to improve and maintain health and wellbeing.
