The CAB’s purpose is focused on the delivery of great clinical and personal experiences for all patients attending our practices, as well as assisting to create an engaging environment for our clinical teams.

Dr Marguerite Reith

Clinical Advisor

Upon graduation from the University of Queensland, Dr Marguerite Reith joined the Royal Australian Air Force, serving in Melbourne, Newcastle and Malaysia. She subsequently transferred to the Royal Air Force where she and her family enjoyed various postings throughout the UK and Europe. She was deployed to Kandahar Airfield during operations in Afghanistan.

In over 20 years in the RAF, reaching the rank of Group Captain, she held numerous clinical posts and undertook postgraduate training in Conscious Sedation at King's College London, and an MBA at Staffordshire University. Military duties included forensic odontology, recruitment and various clinical governance and Command roles. She also lectured in sedation throughout the UK, was involved in the UK Foundation Dentist Scheme and was an examiner for the National Examining Board of Dental Nurses.

Dr Reith returned to Australia in 2017, taking up a position at the Oral Health Centre, Herston, where she led the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Imaging departments and was responsible for the clinical supervision of UQ undergraduates in these disciplines. She is currently mentoring two final year students. Recently she led a team that set up the Dental Sedation Service at the OHC, which is the only facility in the State providing conscious sedation for public dental patients.

Dr Reith joined Maven as Clinical Advisor in early 2019 and hopes to use her experience of over 30 years in the dental profession to support Dr Fred Calavassy and the Clinical Team in pursuit of the Group's strong ethos of Clinical Best Practice.

Dr Reith has three adult children and in her free time enjoys travelling to visit them. She likes to keep active by cycling, swimming and gym training. She also enjoys playing the violin, painting and sewing, and volunteers as a JP and English language tutor.
