Dental Check-Up & X-Rays

Your overall health and wellness begins with your mouth, so when was the last time you had a dental check-up?

Booking a routine check-up and x-rays allow for your dentist to provide a thorough examination of your overall oral health. This helps to us to keep an eye on your oral condition, and even prevent further dental complications from arising.

What is a Dental Check-up and X-Rays?

A dental check-up and x-rays is an essential part of caring for your overall dental health. Even if you don’t have a toothache, pain or any concerns, we firmly believe that prevention is better than cure. Your Maven dentist will examine your entire mouth, exploring the state of your teeth and soft tissues, talking you through the process step by step. Having a regular dental check-up should be on the top of your wellness checklist at least every 6 months, or as advised by your dentist.

What’s included?

A routine dental examination and x-rays has two parts to it:

  1. A full dental check-up of your teeth, gums and overall mouth condition

It is important to be proactive and build a regular relationship with your dentist or dental hygienist. For a healthy smile and overall good oral health we recommend booking routine hygiene & check-up visits with a dentist or dental hygienist ideally every 6 months or as advised by your dentist

If you take care of your oral health, you can reduce your chances of getting more complex dental problems. This includes being proactive with a combination of at-home dental care and building a regular relationship with your dentist or dental hygienist.

We recommend daily healthy habits and regular visits to the dentist. For a healthy smile and overall good oral health:

  • Practice good oral hygiene habits at home including brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day

Our standard dental x-rays are bitewing x-rays. Usually you will have one bitewing taken on each side of your mouth. This helps dentists to see what’s happening with your molars, or larger back teeth including the decay that may be developing in areas that can’t be seen easily, such as between the teeth.

We understand that some people feel anxious about visiting the dentist.  At Maven Dental, we work hard to make you feel comfortable and to create environments that feel safe and welcoming.  We also believe that communication is key and invite you to share any concerns you may have prior to your appointment or upon arrival.

While everyone is different, we’ve created a list of tips that can help to reduce anxiety related to dentist visits – read more
