Dr Amee Ramesh
Joining the team at Batemans Bay Orthodontics in 2019, Dr Amee Ramesh is an experienced orthodontist that loves transforming her patients smiles to benefit their overall well-being. Originally from the UK, Amee moved to Australia in 2016 where she has been enjoying the warmer climate and being close to the beach.
After completing her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Bristol Amee practiced as a general dentist in London before holding posts in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and restorative dentistry. Originally from the UK, Amee moved to Australia in 2016 where she has been enjoying the warmer climate and being close to the beach.
After completing her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Bristol Amee practiced as a general dentist in London before holding posts in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and restorative dentistry. Following this, she began her specialist orthodontic training at Kings College, London. Before making the move to Batemans Bay Orthodontics, Dr Ramesh practiced as a specialist orthodontist in London, Bristol and Sydney as well as a stint at Bristol University as a guest lecturer.
Dr Ramesh enjoys transforming smiles and giving patients the smile they’ve always dreamed of. She loves to see the influence that orthodontic treatment can have on the development and growth of children and young adults. Dr Ramesh likes to work closely with her patients during their smile transformations and loves getting to know her patients to better understand what they want to achieve during treatment.
Since moving to Batemans Bay Amee has enjoyed exploring the area regularly bush walking and swimming at local beaches. When she’s not at the practice you can also find Amee at Rock ‘n Roll classes, visiting local markets and helping out at the Batemans Bay street kitchen.
Julie Shiels
Julie Shiels has been part of the Batemans Bay Orthodontic team for over 25 years and has over 40 years of experience in the dental industry. After starting out as a Dental Assistant at 17 years of age Julie fell in love with dentistry and has worked in many different roles throughout her career. In 2015 she took on the role of Practice Manager at Batemans Bay Orthodontics and has been leading the team ever since.

Originally from South Australia, Julie moved to the South Coast over 35 years ago. She enjoys spending time with her family especially her two little grandchildren. When she isn’t at the practice she also loves socialising with good friends and travelling with her husband.
Karyn Volf
Karyn Volf is an experienced dental assistant that started working in the industry at 16 years of age. Karyn’s career has seen her work in both general and specialist dental practices before joining the team at Batemans Bay Orthodontics in 2014.
Karyn enjoys tracking patient progress during their smile transformations and working with the close knit team at Batemans Bay Orthodontics. Karyn has lived int eh community for over 27 years and loves getting to know the patients and their families.
Away from the practice Karyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, keeping fit and gardening.
Louise Shilling
Louise Shilling joined the team at Batemans Bay Orthodontics in 2012. After 18 years in Goulburn Louise moved to Batemans Bay in 2005 where she worked in general dentistry for 5 years before joining Batemans Bay Orthodontics.
With over 25 years of experience in the dental industry Louise still loves seeing patients progress and change during their treatment journeys. She get’s great joy out of watching patients of all ages grow in confidence as they achieve the smile they’ve always wanted.
Away from the practice Louise loves spending time with her husband and two adult children. She also enjoys walking, sports and socialising with friends.
