Dr Charlotte Boardman

Dr Charlotte Boardman was welcomed to Coastal Orthodontics as an associate dentist, after moving to the Gold Coast in 2012. Originally from England, Dr Boardman graduated from the University of Manchester in 2000 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. After receiving her dental qualifications she spent the next three years working in general dental practices, maxillofacial surgery departments and dental hospitals before going on to complete her Masters in Dental Science (Orthodontics) at The University of Leeds. In 2007, she made the move to the warmer climates of Australia.

Dr Charlotte Boardman was welcomed to Coastal Orthodontics as an associate dentist, after moving to the Gold Coast in 2012. Originally from England, Dr Boardman graduated from the University of Manchester in 2000 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Her extensive career has seen Dr Boardman receive Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons London, and awarded a prize from the British Orthodontic Society for the best treated exam cases. Her passion for the field of orthodontics is also evident in the practice, as she approaches each appointment with the same excitement as the many years before

As an orthodontist, Dr Boardman finds great satisfaction in transforming her patients' smiles, and improving their self-esteem and confidence. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and developing them tailored treatment plans to deliver them the best results. With the highest standards in mind, Dr Boardman ensures she provides the highest standard of treatment and care by regularly attending professional development courses and conferences.

Away from the practice, Dr Boardman is kept busy with her two young daughters, keeping fit, and exploring the beautiful beaches and hinterlands Gold Coast has to offer.

Dr Seema Manek

Coastal Orthodontics welcomed Dr Seema Manek to the practice as a talented and experienced associate dentist. Originally from the UK, Dr Manek graduated from Guys', Kings' and St Thomas' School of Medicine and Dentistry in London with a degree in dentistry. After some years working in the fields of restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and special care dentistry, she attended Barts' and the Royal London Hospital to complete her specialist training in orthodontics.

Coastal Orthodontics welcomed Dr Seema Manek to the practice as a talented and experienced associate dentist. Originally from the UK, Dr Manek graduated from Guys', Kings' and St Thomas' School of Medicine and Dentistry in London with a degree in dentistry. After some years working in the fields of restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and special care dentistry, she attended Barts' and the Royal London Hospital to complete her specialist training in orthodontics.

Dr Manek's career has also seen her go on to complete a Masters degree in Orthodontics, become a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow, and become a registered dentist and Specialist in Orthodontics in Australia. The years have seen her gain extensive experience in the areas of children's dentistry, treating patients with special needs/medical complications/dental anxiety, performing complex orthodontics on patients with facial deformities and cleft lip/palate, Invisalign and sleep apnoea treatments.

In the practice, Dr Manek is focused on creating a fun and relaxing environment for her patients. She boasts a caring and compassionate manner, making sure each and every patient feels comfortable and happy during their appointment. Above all else, Dr Manek believes in hard work, evidence based practice and high quality dental treatment.Supporting this she regularly attends meetings and conferences to remain up to date on the latest advancements and developments in the field of orthodontics and dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Manek enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son, and has interests in running, cooking, sketching and playing piano. She is also a keen trekker, having already scaled the peaks of Patagonia, Mount Kilimanjaro and Everest base camp (although hopes to one day reach the summit).

Kelly Tandler

Coastal Orthodontics welcomed Kelly Tander to the practice in 2008 as a dental hygienist. Kelly obtained her dental hygienist qualifications in 1991 through Adelaide University and has since gone on to gain over 20 years' of extensive experience in general and specialist dentistry. Since joining the practice she has also gone on to gain additional qualifications in the area of orthodontics.

When she isn't busy assisting her own patients, she enjoys volunteering at other practices to help develop their dental hygiene programs and lecturing to her colleagues throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Stephen Herriott graduated from University of Queensland (UQ) in 1977 with honours(Bachelor of Dental Science) – second in his class.

After graduating from UQ, Dr. Herriott worked as a general practitioner in outback Queensland and then Northern suburbs of Sydney before establishing his own modern practice in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales. This was a general dental practice with special emphasis in the treatment of children, orthodontics and dental facial orthopaedics, oral surgery, pain anxiety control and aesthetics of the smile. Whilst practicing as a general practitioner, Dr Herriott also studied part-time to achieve by examination a fellowship in the Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

In 1990, Dr Herriott moved to the USA with his family and completed a Masters of Science in Oral Biology, along with his specialist Orthodontic Degree, from the University of Louisville in Kentucky, USA. He also successfully completed his Phase II examinations for the American Orthodontic Board.

Since then he has practiced specialist orthodontics only, with special emphasis on growth and development of the growing face and dentition. He has a keen interest in adult treatment modalities.

Dr. Herriott is a full member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists and a member of the Australian Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics and World Federation of Orthodontics. He is an active member of the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers and Brisbane study groups, having held positions both federally and locally with professional dental associations.

Dr Herriott maintains an active social life outside of his orthodontic practice with his wife and four boys, enjoying rowing, cycling, surfing, boating, fishing and golf. He also has an interest in wine appreciation and orchid growing.
