Evatt Dental Care welcomed Dr Deborah Kong to the practice in December 2014 as the dentist. Dr Kong was born and raised in Canberra. Dr Kong moved to Adelaide to complete her dental qualifications, obtaining her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. After graduating she spent a number of years working in Sydney before returning to her home city, where she is able to spend more time with her family.

Dr Kong moved to Adelaide to complete her dental qualifications, obtaining her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. After graduating she spent a number of years working in Sydney before returning to her home city, where she is able to spend more time with her family.
Dr Kong is highly experienced across all aspects of general dentistry and is committed to providing her patients with high quality dental care that is tailored to suit their individual needs. She focuses on preventative dental care and aims to work alongside her patients to help deliver them excellent oral health. Dr Kong also enjoys working with anxious patients and finds it extremely rewarding to assist them in overcoming their dental fears.
Committed to furthering her professional development, Dr Kong regularly attends continuing education courses to ensure she keeps up to date with the rapidly changing world of dentistry. She has been awarded with accreditation with the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. Additionally, she has completed her SomnoMed course and attended lectures on the snoring and sleep disorder therapy, including the use of mandibular advancement devices/splints to manage the condition. Dr Kong is a SomnoMed Dental Sleep Professional.
Dr Kong strongly believes in giving back to the community and the dental profession. Since 2011, Dr Deborah Kong has been serving on the ACT Dental Group Committee in the positions of secretary and general committee member. She started serving on the Australia Dental Association NSW ACT and Southlands Division committee in 2016 and was on the organising committee for the 2019 Australian Dental Association NSW Convention. In 2017, Dr Kong volunteered in Vietnam with the Christian Health Aid Team providing much needed dental services to poor and disadvantaged children and carers at schools and orphanages. Dr Kong is also a regular volunteer at the Australian Dental Association's Red Cross Clinics which provides emergency dental care to asylum seekers.
Dr Kong welcomes international patients being able to speak Cantonese and Mandarin.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Kong enjoys watching movies, hiking, travelling and is an avid theatre goer. She likes to stay active to counteract her love for all things food related by going to the gym and running.
