Peter George
Principal Dentist

Dr Peter George

Dr Peter George established Hallett Cove Dental in 1981. In 2010, the practice became part of the Maven Dental network and since then, he has continued to lead the team at the practice and serve as a mentor for newer clinicians.  

Peter established Hallett Cove Dental as a family friendly practice and has enjoyed watching his patients grow from children into adults and start families of their own.

Along with general dentistry, Dr Peter enjoys crown and bridge work, and the satisfaction gained from total mouth transformations.

Outside of dentistry, Peter enjoys spending time with his adult children and his grandchild. He also enjoys hiking regularly with a group of friends, and is an avid supporter of the Adelaide Crows football team.

Dr Lauren Gill

Dr. Lauren Gill joined Maven Dental Hallett Cove as an associate dentist in 2017. After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2013, Dr. Gill worked in a very busy dental clinic for three years in Mount Gambier, South Australia. While she loved her time working in the country, she is now settled back home in Adelaide.

Dr. Gill relishes practicing a wide range of general family dentistry including check-ups, cleans, fillings and crowns. However, she has a particular interest in removing tricky teeth and dental implants.

Dr. Lauren Gill joined Maven Dental Hallett Cove as an associate dentist in 2017. After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2013, Dr. Gill worked in a very busy dental clinic for three years in Mount Gambier, South Australia. While she loved her time working in the country, she is now settled back home in Adelaide.

Dr. Gill relishes practicing a wide range of general family dentistry including check-ups, cleans, fillings and crowns. However, she has a particular interest in removing tricky teeth and dental implants.

She is devoted to attending a variety of dental courses. Whilst working full-time, Dr. Gill gained her Diploma of Membership of the Joint Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has also earned a Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology from James Cook University.

Preferring appointments to be as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, Dr. Gill very much enjoys working with patients and talking with them so that they understand the treatment involved and can make informed decisions. She enjoys a close working relationship with nurses, therapists and other dental professionals.

Dr. Gill is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.

When Dr. Gill is not working or attending dental courses interstate or overseas, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Laura Asenstorfer
Associate Dentist

Dr Laura Asenstorfer

Joining the team at Hallett Cove Dental in 2016, Dr Laura Asenstorfer is a passionate dentist that loves creating positive dental experiences and helping her patients overcome their dental anxiety.

Dr Asenstorfer didn’t always want to be a dentist. Like many young girls, Laura had dreams of becoming a professional ballerina when she was younger. After finding out she had knee problems Laura dentistry became her focus when her family dentist encouraged her to do work experience in his practice.

Joining the team at Hallett Cove Dental in 2016, Dr Laura Asenstorfer is a passionate dentist that loves creating positive dental experiences and helping her patients overcome their dental anxiety.

Dr Asenstorfer didn’t always want to be a dentist. Like many young girls, Laura had dreams of becoming a professional ballerina when she was younger. After finding out she had knee problems Laura dentistry became her focus when her family dentist encouraged her to do work experience in his practice.

As a dentist, Laura loves all aspects of general dentistry. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve and maintain healthy teeth and mouth. She has a keen interest in endodontics, preventing and managing gum disease in her patients.

Away from the practice, Laura teaches ballet locally. She also loves reading good books and tending to all her plants.

Dr Peter Alvino

Dr Peter Alvino has over a decade of experience treating patients in greater Adelaide. Dr Alvino is passionate about restorative and cosmetic dentistry and loves helping patients rejuvenate their smile using dental implants.

Away from Hallett Cove Dental, Dr Alvino enjoys relaxing with friends drinking good wine and spending time with his dog.

Dr Spiro Tzerefos
Associate Dentist

Dr Spiro Tzerefos

After owning a practice in the North Eastern suburbs of Adelaide for 45 years, Dr Spiro Tzerefos joined Hallett Cove Dental where he has become a valuable member of the team.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1974, Dr Spiro quickly developed a keen interest in the areas of general and cosmetic dentistry, particularly crown and bridge work.   

A trusted dentist for many years, Spiro enjoys interacting with and treating people of all ages and nationalities.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his three children, six grandchildren and his beloved 7 year old shitzu, Chan.

Dr Cheryl Looi

Dr Cheryl Looi has a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Master of Dentistry from Griffith University. She worked as a Dental Assistant for three years whilst studying in dental school.

Cheryl loves getting to know people from all walks of life and treating them as though they are family, and finds it most fulfilling to help patients achieve their oral health goals and improve their confidence.

Outside of work, she hikes with her partner and dog, goes to the gym, and is a keen traveller.

Kelly Rathjen
Oral Health Therapist

Kelly Rathjen

After working as a dental nurse for five years Kelly fell in love with dentistry and decided to go back to University to complete a Bachelor of Oral Health. Kelly is now one of our talented oral health therapists here at Hallett Cove Dental.

Kelly is passionate about helping children take great care of their teeth. She loves coming up with creative ways to educate young patients about the importance of oral health. She is also very experienced at helping anxious patients overcome their fears of the dentist by creating comfortable, positive experiences during visits.

Away from Hallett Cove Dental Kelly enjoys keeping fit and active. You may also see her out and about as a DJ on the weekend.

Mai Nguyen
Oral Health Therapist

Mai Nguyen

Mai Nguyen joined Hallett Cove Dental as an Oral Health Therapist after graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2019. During her time as a student, Mai gained valuable experience working in both rural and public environments, where she quickly developed a passion for achieving optimal dental care through gentle yet thorough treatment techniques.

She finds great satisfaction in providing gentle and enjoyable patient experiences and enjoys working with both children and adults alike.

Outside of work, Mai can usually be found spending time with friends and family or attending various dental seminars and conferences to further develop her skills in the field.

Kevin Ly
Oral Health Therapist

Kevin Ly

Kevin Ly graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from Adelaide University in 2019. He was born in Sydney, however he grew up and earned his education in Adelaide.

His clinical interests include the entire process of teeth cleaning and the end result of putting a smile on the faces of his patients.  Equally, he takes pleasure in the meticulous attention to detail that is required when placing dental fillings (patients under 18 years of age). Kevin’s gentle and thorough approach to oral health quickly made him a favourite within the practice.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing basketball, making music, and socialising with friends and family.
