Dr Ruchira Singhi joined Maven Dental Belconnen as Lead Dentist in 2011 when she decided to settle in Canberra after working in Sydney and rural New South Wales. Ruchira has over 14 years’ experience as a dentist, and her passion for dentistry and her patients is clear as soon as you enter her surgery.
Ruchira enjoys all aspects of dentistry and holds a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, working with children and nervous patients. Ruchira enjoys all aspects of dentistry and holds a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, working with children and nervous patients. Her positive energy and contagious laugh radiates through our Belconnen practice every day, helping her patients to feel comfortable and at ease. Ruchira loves taking the time to get to know her patients, and believes that a great patient-clinician relationship is key to overcoming dental anxiety.
Outside of dentistry, Ruchira enjoys travelling, participating in extreme sports and reading a good book. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her son and her spoodle puppy.
Dr Megan O'Malley
Maven Dental Belconnen welcomed Dr Megan O'Malley to the practice as an associate dentist in June 2017. Although a Canberra local, Dr O'Malley graduated from Griffith University (Queensland) in 2012 and holds a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Graduate Diploma of Dentistry. After receiving her qualifications she spent three years working in private practice in Toowoomba.
Before returning to Canberra and joining the Belconnen practice, Dr O'Malley spent a year travelling and volunteering as a dentist in remote clinics in Uganda and Papua New Guinea. She also worked as a carer at a camp for special needs…

As a dentist, Dr O'Malley enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and embodies a preventative-focused style of dentistry. She holds particular interests in paediatrics and special care, and receives great satisfaction in being able to help make positive changes to patients' lives - whether by restoring confidence to their smile or assisting them in overcoming their dental anxiety.
Dr O'Malley regularly undertakes continuing professional development courses to ensure she remains abreast of new developments within the field of dentistry. Most recently, she has completed courses on the use of Nitrous Oxide sedation, and clinical paediatric care.
Away from the practice, Dr O'Malley enjoys keeping fit by playing netball and hiking. She also has interests in reading, listening to podcasts, baking (and of course eating her baked goods), and watching science fiction movies. She also has a love for cats and considers herself to be dangerously close to becoming a crazy cat lady.
