Meet The Team

Dr Martin Pynor brings over 35 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to his patients.

Dr Pynor obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1981 and spent his early career working in public practice with a heavy focus on Children’s dentistry. He then opened his very own private, general dental practice in Clare in 1987 where he serviced the community with the highest level of dental care and oral health education.

As a dentist, Dr Pynor takes a friendly and caring approach to his work. He always takes his patients’ individual needs and circumstances into consideration when offering treatment options to assist in improving dental health and general wellbeing.

Dr Pynor is highly experienced in all aspects of general dentistry and has a wide range of clinical interests including, dental implants, dental crowns, veneers and root canals. He believes that as a country dentist, it is imperative to hold skills across as many oral treatments as possible.

Above all, Dr Pynor enjoys providing patients with a stress-free dental experience.

Outside of his practice, you’ll find Dr Pynor spending quality time with family and friends, travelling and having the odd hit at golf.

Dr Parshad Sankey grew up in Adelaide and originally studied Radiography before moving interstate to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2021. 

Throughout his study, Dr Parshad gained thorough experience working within private practice and undertook majority of his training at the Sydney Dental hospital and the Westmead Centre for Oral Health.

Within the practice, Dr Parshad is passionate about all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in oral surgery, root canals and crowns. He thoroughly enjoys that he is often able to make an immediate impact on patients life’s by taking them out of pain so that they can focus on what makes them happy!

As a dentist, Dr Parshad is committed to ensuring that each of his patients has a positive experience while in his care as he understands that a trip to the dentist can be daunting.

When he’s away from the practice, Dr Parshad enjoys trying out new recipes in the kitchen, playing guitar and being a terrible golfer!

Dr Mena Gerges is known not just for his technical dental skills but also for his warm, personable approach. He is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive dental care to his patients, ensuring that each visit is a positive, reassuring, and fulfilling experience.

Born in Egypt and moving to Australia at the age of six, Dr Mena grew up in Adelaide. His early interest in healthcare led him to pursue a career in dentistry immediately after graduating from high school in 2018.

Dr Mena completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide between 2019-2023. During his studies, Dr Mena gained valuable experience during his placements in Victor Harbor, Canberra, and a volunteer placement with the Community Outreach Dental program, assisting homeless individuals.

Dr Mena has developed a broad interest across general dental, with a particular fondness for extractions and crown/bridge work. He is also passionate about cosmetic dentistry, finding great satisfaction in helping patients gain confidence in their smiles.

Dr Mena is committed to building long-term relationships with his patients, focusing on helping them maintain healthy dentition, boosting their confidence in their appearance, and aiding them in overcoming any dental anxiety.

Outside the clinic, Dr Mena enjoys an active and engaging lifestyle. He is an avid sports enthusiast, often found playing basketball and soccer. For those quiet, chill days, he loves to take a seat and indulge in reading novels. Always up for a bit of a challenge, Dr Mena is also currently learning a musical instrument.

Mikaela began her career as a dental assistant back in 2006. After falling in love with all things teeth and dentistry-related, she chose to further her studies to pursue a Bachelor of Oral Health from Adelaide University. After graduating in 2013, she began her new venture as an Oral Health Therapist. Since then, she has also completed a certificate in Orofacial Myology and has implemented her learnings into her practice. 

Mikaela enjoys a broad range of clinical areas, both hygiene and therapy-related, and is dedicated to educating patients on preventative care and how this can foster positive long-term oral health. Most recently, Mikaela has been driven to hone her focus on airway-related issues, predominantly in children.

Originally from the West Coast, the beach is Mikaela’s happy place. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with her family, friends and beloved puppy Basil.

Laura Jarmyn graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Adelaide in 2019. Laura started in the dental industry by completing a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting in 2014. She is a member of both the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists Association and the Dental Hygienists Association Australia. 

Laura is passionate about children’s oral health and providing education to them on healthy dental habits to prevent future dental problems. Laura believes in inspiring and helping patients aspire to have a healthy mouth including the treatment of periodontal disease. She loves to get to know her patients and provide treatment and oral health education to suit their needs. 

Outside of dentistry, Laura plays netball and enjoys waterskiing on the river. She also loves to spend time with family and friends. 

Stephanie Alsic is one of your dedicated Oral Health Therapists at Maven Dental Clare. Beginning her journey in the dental field right after high school in 2018, Stephanie embarked on a Certificate III traineeship, subsequently working as a dental nurse for three years at a private clinic. During this time, she also obtained her radiography license. In 2021, she embraced further education, enrolling in university and graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor of Oral Health, with extended adult scope.

Stephanie has a particular interest in pediatric dentistry, striving to make first dental visits and ongoing treatment as positive as possible for young patients. Her dedication to providing comprehensive care is evident in her focus on preventive treatments and patient education, ensuring excellent oral and general health for patients of all ages.

At Maven Dental Clare, what Stephanie enjoys most is the interaction with her patients and colleagues, along with the satisfaction that comes from providing high-standard care. She takes pride in being part of a team that ensures patients receive the best possible treatment in a caring and supportive environment.

Outside the clinic, Stephanie leads an active and fulfilling life. She loves spending time with friends and family, whether it's relaxing at the beach, attending local sports events, or enjoying the outdoors. Her hobbies include gardening and cooking, and she often looks forward to weekend trips that allow her to indulge in her love for outdoor activities.
