Meet The Team

As principal dentist at Maven Dental Lismore, Dr Peter Martin has been caring for the local Lismore community for over 30 years since establishing the practice in 1982. Originally graduating from the University of Sydney in 1979 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Dr Martin continues to further his professional development and has gone on to complete his Advanced Implant Qualifications through the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.

Driven by the highest of standards and lifelong oral health, Dr Martin embodies a holistic approach when treating his patients. He offers a wide range of treatments ranging from preventative dentistry, root canal treatment and implant services to cosmetic dentistry and wisdom teeth removal. Dr Martin also offers his patients the option of sleep dentistry, which is achieved through either intravenous sedation or nitrous oxide (happy gas).

Outside of dentistry, Dr Martin enjoys using his aeronautical experience to provide aircraft and piloting services to people in remote areas of Australia through Angel Flight Australia - 2017 being his 11th year of involvement with the charitable organisation. His other interests include piloting smaller sport aircraft and kayak fishing.

Dr Laura Hunter brings a diverse dental experience to our clinic at Maven Dental Lismore. Her practice consists of a blend of expertise and empathy, ensuring that your dental visit is both comfortable and exceptional.

Dr Laura's academic journey began at the University of Otago, New Zealand, where she completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours. Her passion for dentistry led her to the University of Sydney, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2021. With a commitment to providing high-quality dental care, Dr Laura honed her skills at a high-end private cosmetic clinic in Melbourne's CBD, before moving to the public sector in Northern NSW where she provided accessible dental care to vulnerable populations.

What truly sets Dr Laura apart is her approach to patient care. Understanding that dental visits can be daunting, she enjoys helping anxious patients feel comfortable and offers both nitrous and oral sedation. Her goal is to transform the perception of dentistry from a fear-inducing experience to one that is relationship-based and reassuring. Dr Laura has a passion for basic oral surgery and restoring pain-free function for her patients, ensuring that your dental health is in the most capable hands.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr Laura's passion for dentistry is evident in the relationships she builds with her patients. She values the opportunity to meet people from various backgrounds and is committed to bridging the gap between fear and routine commitment to healthcare. Her collaborative approach within the dental team ensures a seamless and efficient experience for every patient.

Outside the clinic, Dr Laura's love for the outdoors is unmistakable. Originally from New Zealand, she has a deep appreciation for nature, and can often be found hiking, camping, or enjoying the snow and beaches. Her love for the outdoors is matched by her enjoyment of social gatherings, where good food, fine wine, and shared stories are the norm!

Chloe Rickit is an Oral Health Therapist practicing in the Northern Rivers region in New South Wales. Her primary focus is to foster great relationships and deliver comprehensive oral healthcare to her patients.

Originally from New Zealand, Chloe graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Oral Health (2023), gaining invaluable clinical experience in the public dental services in the Auckland and Hawkes Bay region.

After completing her training, Chloe relocated to the quiet, relaxed Northern Rivers region to begin her career. She aims to establish genuine, long-lasting connections with patients and fellow clinicians while enjoying a slower-paced lifestyle!

As a clinician, Chloe thrives on tackling challenging cases, seeing them as opportunities for rewarding experiences. Moreover, Chloe is passionate about delivering comprehensive care. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach that integrates various disciplines.

Outside of work, Chloe loves spending time with family, exploring all the beautiful aspects of wildlife in the Northern Rivers, and making time for self-care, whether that means going to the beach with friends or spending the night cooking a nourishing meal.
