Meet The Team

Dr David Nestor from Galway, in the west of Ireland completed his undergraduate dental training in Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 2009. Following graduation Dr David spent a number of years working in Belfast, treating patients in private practice and also treating patients in the public system. During this time he achieved membership to the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh through the MJDF and MFDS examinations.

Dr David made his way to sunny Far North Queensland in 2015 and spent a number of years practising in Innisfail and enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of the Far North. He keeps up to date with postgraduate learning and courses in Australia and overseas.

Dr David relocated his practice to Maven Dental Robina in 2019 and shows a keen interest in restorative dentistry, including crowns, bridges, veneers and implant crowns. He takes pride in being a gentle dentist and takes the time to explain the treatment options to his patient.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys golf, travel photography and hiking.

Originally from the west of Ireland, Dr Rachel graduated in 2009 from Trinity College Dublin and spent the next 5 years working in private practice in Ireland. During this time she gained experience in all aspects of dentistry including Orthodontics and placement of permanent bonded retainers.

Dr Rachel is an extremely gentle dentist with a knack for calming nervous patients and is also great with children. With this, she has a keen interest in Paediatric dentistry after working for a year in the Irish public health system exclusively treating children.

Dr Rachel became a member of the Rcsed in 2013 after completing MJDf and MFDS examinations. In 2015, Rachel relocated to Cairns where she continued to work in private practice offering a wide range of dental treatments. She is currently undertaking training in cosmetic facial treatment and is looking forward to offering this service to her patients in the near future.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys playing sports including hockey and golf.

Dr Wonjoon Lee is a friendly dentist. Originally from South Korea, Dr Lee immigrated to Australia and went on to complete a Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2016.

After graduating, Dr Lee worked across various practices throughout the rural regions of New South Wales as an associate dentist where he gained thorough experience in all aspects of general dentistry.

Throughout his years in practice, Dr Lee has developed a keen passion for cosmetic dentistry and finds great satisfaction in restoring the natural function of the mouth, enhancing his patients' smiles. Though he enjoys all aspects of cosmetic dentistry he particularly enjoys implant treatment.

When not practicing, Dr Lee enjoys spending quality time with his close friends and family members.

Dr Radin Manafi-Khosroshahi was born in Iran and raised in Canada, he prides himself on being fluent in both Farsi and English. He followed his passion for dentistry by pursuing and completing his Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) from The University of Queensland in 2022. Following graduation, he decided to trade in the Canadian cold for the sunny beaches of the Gold Coast.

His goal as a dentist is to create a safe, inclusive, and comfortable environment for all his patients. He is also passionate about educating patients on the importance of oral health, and always prioritises and promotes preventative strategies to ensure a well-rounded healthy lifestyle. Dr Radin is a well-rounded dentist, but his particular interests are oral surgery and periodontics.

When he is not working, you can find him on the different hiking trails or enjoying the sunny beaches of Gold Coast. Dr Radin looks forward to meeting and greeting new patients and aims to make their experience as stress-free and relaxing as possible. 

Dr. Julia is passionate about dentistry, oral health, and people. She was born in Russia but pursued her dream to become a dentist in Australia graduating from Griffith University with multiple awards for academic excellence.

Dr. Julia is a perfectionist and her own harshest critic when it comes to her work. She finds joy in continuous personal and professional development, learning and expanding her skill set, so she can provide the best care possible for her patients.

She is a caring person, and always ensure her patients understand their oral health risks, conditions, and options to treat it. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but particularly Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Oral Surgery.

Outside of dentistry, she loves Latin dancing, reading books, and spending quality time with her friends and partner.

Swapping England for the Gold Coast, Sarah is a talented dental hygienist who graduated in 2012 with Diplomas in Dental Hygiene and Therapy and was awarded the clinical hygiene award for her graduating cohort.

Sarah is committed to providing the highest standard of care for her patients and believes that a hygienist visit should be as comfortable as possible, with that in mind she solely works with Airflow technology incorporating Guided Biofilm Therapy.

She has a keen interest in periodontics and is very confident in treating complex cases and strives to achieve optimal results, whilst working alongside the dentist.

Having worked in Oral Health Improvement roles in the past she has seen firsthand the impact oral health can have on general health and as a result, she is committed to educating her patients on all aspects of their health and wellness and how they are closely linked.

Sarah has a great passion for education and public speaking, so she regularly delivers training events not only for her peers but within the wider community also.

When Sarah isn’t busy at the clinic, you will usually find her on one of Gold Coast’s beautiful beaches, soaking up the sun. Sarah is also keen to try and keep fit and is always looking for new things to try – and is currently trying to practice more yoga and meditation to complement her busy lifestyle.

Ruby is your Oral Health Therapist at Maven Dental Robina – treating patients of all ages. Whether it's your first dental visit or you're a regular patient, Ruby is committed to understanding and meeting the unique oral health needs of each patient. With 7 years of experience in the dental industry, Ruby is skilled in hygiene treatments, general cleaning and scaling, periodontal therapy for treating gum disease, teeth whitening, fluoride application, fissure sealants and oral health education/instruction. 

Ruby also has a keen interest in treating patients under 18 years old for check-ups, hygiene, and subsequent treatment (such as fillings or extractions), ensuring every trip to the clinic is a positive one as she believes this is crucial for younger patients to reach their best oral health outcomes. She has a friendly chairside manner with children and helps patients with anxiety feel at ease. Ruby strives to make her patients feel safe and comfortable in the dental chair and truly cares about building rapport with her patients. Ruby is passionate about helping her patients reach and maintain optimal oral health and approaches her patients with compassion, care and empathy. She'll educate you on preventive measures and oral hygiene practices that will keep your smile shining for years to come.
