Meet the Team at Maven Dental Sippy Downs

Dr Katie Edwards graduated from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, following which she completed her post-graduate training at Bradford Hospital in the United Kingdom. Working under the guidance of leading consultants in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr Katie’s wealth of experience is an asset to  the Sippy Downs community.

In 2011, Dr Katie became a member of the Dental Faculty of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, following which she made the decision to practice in Australia, moving to Queensland in 2012.

With an interest in conservative dentistry, Dr Katie is a big advocate for preventing dental disease before treatment is required. She is also passionate about treating children and is a firm believer in making her patients her highest priority.

In her spare time, Dr Katie can be spotted playing soccer and is captain of the Buderim Wanderers Premier Women’s Team.

Kirsten Middleton first began her career in dental during her school years where she assisted in her local family clinic. After finishing high school she spent four years working in private practice, four years at an orthodontist and a few years abroad in London. In 2002 she returned to New Zealand to complete her dental hygienist qualifications at Otago University.

Her passion for meeting new patients and making a difference to someone's smile has contributed to her patients feeling confident and happy with their oral health. Kirsten also understands the varying needs of her patients and incorporates sedation into her hygiene practice, reducing any nervousness they might suffer. This additionally supports her love for providing periodontal care.

Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the dental industry Kirsten regularly attends professional development courses and training. This ensures she is providing her patients with the best dental hygiene treatment and care possible. Her love for dentistry has also seen her travel back to Otago Dental School where she shares her experiences and insights about her role as a hygienist.

Outside of her practice Kirsten enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, and often get outdoors enjoying the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

Felicia completed her Dental Hygiene qualification in Canada in 2010, and went on to attain a Bachelor of Science in 2013. She is a registered practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and an active member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia, Queensland Branch.
Felicia is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment for her patients, offering a warm, bubbly, and safe space where patients feel truly cared for. She takes the time to build strong relationships with her patients, aiming to make each visit a positive and empowering experience. She has a genuine interest in understanding each person’s unique needs and the root causes of their oral health concerns providing thoughtful, personalised care.
She has a particular passion for the link between oral health and overall wellbeing and loves educating her patients about how good dental habits can positively impact their general health.
Outside of work, Felicia enjoys spending quality time with her family, experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes, and exploring the beautiful Australian outdoors.
