Dr Stephen Coulson

Dr Coulson graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science and has since gone on to gain over 25 years' experience. He initially began his dental career working for a large general dental practice in Nerang before relocating his practice to Maven Dental Southport (then Smileplus Dental) in 2009.

With his extensive experience and clinical knowledge Dr Coulson is committed to providing his patients the best in dental care. He also places great focus on interacting well with his patients and building strong relationships. Additionally, he is well regarded for his friendly, down to earth nature and gentle approach to treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Coulson is passionate about golf.

Nataliya Novak began her dentistry career in the Ukraine, where she worked at a children’s hospital after completing her Bachelor of Dental Science in 1998. After her studies she made the move to Australia in 2005, but her drive to provide children with the very best dental care possible never waned. For this reason, Nataliya decided to further her career studying a Bachelor of Oral Health through CQUniversity in which she graduated from 2017.

Nataliya Novak began her dentistry career in the Ukraine, where she worked at a children’s hospital after completing her Bachelor of Dental Science in 1998. For this reason, Nataliya decided to further her career studying a Bachelor of Oral Health through CQUniversity in which she graduated from 2017.

Nataliya has a keen interest in paediatric dentistry, as well as preventive dentistry and minimal intervention techniques. She describes her chosen career path as both challenging and rewarding. In her new practice as an Oral Health Therapist, Nataliya looks forward to helping her patients of all ages to establish the very best oral health habits allowing them to enjoy good oral health and overall wellness.

When she’s not helping others, Nataliya enjoys camping, 4-wheel driving, and getting stuck into a good book.

Janet Stephens

Originally from the UK, Janet completed her Certificate of Hygiene in 1979 at Guys University Hospital, London, before going on to gain over 20 years’ experience.

Beginning her career in 1979, Janet joined a busy dental clinic in Ipswich, UK, where she worked for 12 years. Following this she went on to work for Suffolk Health Authority which saw her working with special needs patients, assisting with long-stay hospital cases, visiting prison and educating children on dental health at local schools.

After gaining extensive experience, Janet moved to the Gold Coast in 1991 where she has since been working in general practice. She has operated her practice at Maven Dental Southport since 2006 and continues to enjoy meeting new people and providing them with exceptional care.

While enjoying the many facets of her role Janet loves being able to watch her patients' mouths transform as their oral hygiene improves. Her passion for dental hygiene has also seen her commence training as an EMMETT therapist which will allow her to work with both horses and humans.

Janet is also a registered member of the Dental Hygienists Association Australia.

Outside of her practice, Janet enjoys living on her acreage with her 4 horses and 2 dogs. She also has keen interests in cooking, eating, boating and studying Parelli horsemanship.
