Meet The Team

Founder of West Pymble Dental, Dr Maxwell Swart has a wealth of dental experience spanning over 37 years and three different countries. Dr Swart’s love of dentistry has never faded; enjoying every opportunity to treat and manage his patient’s dental health and helping them achieve their oral health goals.

Maxwell believes that with a gentle and patient approach his patients can be shown they can have the treatment they know they should have. This approach to dentistry has allowed him to provide positive experiences for his patients at West Pymble Dental Surgery.

Graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1981, Dr Swart set off across the globe to learn from leading dentists in London (1981-82) and the Netherlands (1982-88). Arriving back in Sydney in 1988, Dr Swart established the West Pymble Dental Surgery where he has successfully practised for three decades.

Although a highly skilled and experienced dentist, Dr Swart recognises that constantly seeking opportunities to learn is important for himself and his patients. A member of the AOS Periodontal Society, Dr Swart is continuing his learning with advanced periodontal regenerative techniques in Germany. Also a graduate of the Brenner Institute of Implant Surgery in Sydney, he has a keen interest in dental implant surgery along with all aspects of general dentistry. Dr Swart is also an active member of the Australia Dental Association.

When he is not at West Pymble Dental Surgery, Dr Swart loves spending time with his family, watching foreign films, and travelling. He is also committed to keeping fit, regularly playing tennis and doing yoga in his spare time.

He is married and has two adult children; his daughter manages the surgery, and his son is a doctor.

Dr Yaneky (Niki) obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Science (BDsc) from University of Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE) in Brazil in 1997 and has completed post-graduate education in Endodontics from the University of Sao Paulo (USP).

After having worked as a Dental Practitioner in Brazil for many years Niki moved overseas, first to Japan and then to Australia in 2007. Niki has completed thousands of hours continuing her education in both Brazil and Australia.

Prior to becoming a certified Dental Practitioner in Australia, Niki joined our team in early 2008 as a dental assistant. Niki successfully completed her ADC examination with flying colours in 2015 and joined our professional team as a Dental Practitioner the following year.

We appreciate the skills and attributes she brings to our surgery. Niki’s gentle and calming nature allows her patients to feel at ease when receiving treatment. She takes the time to understand her patient’s expectations and demonstrates a holistic approach when providing care to our patients.

Niki loves spending time with her son and husband. She enjoys outdoor activities including going to the beach, bushwalking and camping in her free time.

Dr Fernanda Zeviani graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 2012 and worked in private practice until 2018. During this time, she developed skills in all aspects of general dentistry as well as orthodontics.

In 2018, she moved to Australia and began the qualification and examination process through the Australian Dental Council (ADC) to gain registration to work as a dentist in Australia.

She successfully gained Australian registration in 2021 and has enjoyed working once again in her chosen field as a dentist.

Dr Fernanda is a caring dentist with keen attention to detail. She provides optimal oral health care with an additional focus on patient comfortability and enjoys building rapport and trust with her patients.

Dr Fernanda continually pursues further education in the areas of preventative, restorative, and aesthetic dental treatments with evident dedication to continued professional education.

Outside of work, Dr Fernanda enjoys keeping an active lifestyle. She is likely to be found outside playing volleyball, practising Pilates, or walking with her husband and dog along the beach.

Dr Jeff Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1980 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. After gaining valuable experience working in London for six years, he moved to Sydney in 1986, where he has since established a reputation for excellence in dental care. Today, Dr Jeff focuses his practice on orthodontic care, dedicating his knowledge to straightening teeth and creating beautiful, confident smiles.
 
Dr Jeff is a firm believer in the pivotal role dental health and aesthetics play in general health, confidence, and self-esteem. His approach to dental care is rooted in honesty, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. A lifelong learner, Dr Jeff’s dedication to continuing education extends beyond dentistry, reflecting his belief in the importance of personal growth in all areas of life
 
With extensive postgraduate training in orthodontics, Dr Jeff is passionate about transforming smiles through straightening teeth — a process he finds deeply fulfilling. His clinical experience is matched by his personalised approach to patient care, ensuring that every treatment is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
 
Outside of dentistry, Dr Jeff enjoys a well-rounded lifestyle. He is married with three children and stays active by going to the gym, running, and swimming. He also has a passion for reading, gardening, music, theatre, and boating, contributing to his balanced approach to life.

Dr Mayu Lingathas brings a fresh and dynamic approach to West Pymble Dental Surgery. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from Charles Sturt University.

Passionate about the transformative power of dentistry, Dr Mayu has a keen interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as oral surgery. His dedication to enhancing patients' confidence through a healthier and brighter smile drives his daily practice. He enjoys the diagnostic and procedural aspects of dentistry, and values building long-term relationships with his patients, witnessing the positive impact of his work over time.

Dr Mayu values the significance of a collaborative approach to dental care, striving to make a meaningful impact on his patients' lives. Committed to professional development, he regularly attends dental conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses to stay updated with the latest advancements in dentistry.

Outside of the clinic, Dr Mayu maintains a well-rounded lifestyle. He enjoys playing tennis and golf, going to the gym, and is an avid NBA fan. Dr Mayu also loves travelling and exploring new cultures. 

Dr Eliese Bruno graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Pelotas in Brazil in 2000. With over two decades of experience in general dentistry, Dr Eliese has developed a strong foundation in providing comprehensive dental care.

Her career began with five years of dedicated service in a rural clinic, followed by 20 years of general dental practice. In 2007, Dr Eliese transitioned to Australia, where she has spent over 10 years as a Dentistry Clinical Tutor at the University of Sydney, sharing her knowledge and expertise with the next generation of dentists.

Dr Eliese's passion for dentistry is rooted in her commitment to patient care. She places a strong emphasis on creating a calming and safe environment, particularly for children, drawing from her own experiences as a mother of two. She treats every patient with respect and approaches each case with confidence, always striving to find the right solutions for her patients' needs.

Aesthetic and restorative dentistry are among Dr Eliese's clinical interests, as she believes in the importance of reestablishing oral health and preserving her patients' self-esteem. She finds dentistry to be a deeply rewarding profession, particularly in helping people regain their smiles and, by extension, their confidence.

Outside of her professional life, Dr Eliese enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She is passionate about surfing and practices yoga regularly, activities that help her maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
