Meet The Team

Founder of West Pymble Dental, Dr Maxwell Swart has a wealth of dental experience spanning over 37 years and three different countries. Dr Swart’s love of dentistry has never faded; enjoying every opportunity to treat and manage his patient’s dental health and helping them achieve their oral health goals.

Maxwell believes that with a gentle and patient approach his patients can be shown they can have the treatment they know they should have. This approach to dentistry has allowed him to provide positive experiences for his patients at West Pymble Dental Surgery.

Graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1981, Dr Swart set off across the globe to learn from leading dentists in London (1981-82) and the Netherlands (1982-88). Arriving back in Sydney in 1988, Dr Swart established the West Pymble Dental Surgery where he has successfully practised for three decades.

Although a highly skilled and experienced dentist, Dr Swart recognises that constantly seeking opportunities to learn is important for himself and his patients. A member of the AOS Periodontal Society, Dr Swart is continuing his learning with advanced periodontal regenerative techniques in Germany. Also a graduate of the Brenner Institute of Implant Surgery in Sydney, he has a keen interest in dental implant surgery along with all aspects of general dentistry. Dr Swart is also an active member of the Australia Dental Association.

When he is not at West Pymble Dental Surgery, Dr Swart loves spending time with his family, watching foreign films, and travelling. He is also committed to keeping fit, regularly playing tennis and doing yoga in his spare time.

He is married and has two adult children; his daughter manages the surgery, and his son is a doctor.

Dr Yaneky (Niki) obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Science (BDsc) from University of Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE) in Brazil in 1997 and has completed post-graduate education in Endodontics from the University of Sao Paulo (USP).

After having worked as a Dental Practitioner in Brazil for many years Niki moved overseas, first to Japan and then to Australia in 2007. Niki has completed thousands of hours continuing her education in both Brazil and Australia.

Prior to becoming a certified Dental Practitioner in Australia, Niki joined our team in early 2008 as a dental assistant. Niki successfully completed her ADC examination with flying colours in 2015 and joined our professional team as a Dental Practitioner the following year.

We appreciate the skills and attributes she brings to our surgery. Niki’s gentle and calming nature allows her patients to feel at ease when receiving treatment. She takes the time to understand her patient’s expectations and demonstrates a holistic approach when providing care to our patients.

Niki loves spending time with her son and husband. She enjoys outdoor activities including going to the beach, bushwalking and camping in her free time.

Dr Fernanda Zeviani graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 2012 and worked in private practice until 2018. During this time, she developed skills in all aspects of general dentistry as well as orthodontics.

In 2018, she moved to Australia and began the qualification and examination process through the Australian Dental Council (ADC) to gain registration to work as a dentist in Australia.

She successfully gained Australian registration in 2021 and has enjoyed working once again in her chosen field as a dentist.

Dr Fernanda is a caring dentist with keen attention to detail. She provides optimal oral health care with an additional focus on patient comfortability and enjoys building rapport and trust with her patients.

Dr Fernanda continually pursues further education in the areas of preventative, restorative, and aesthetic dental treatments with evident dedication to continued professional education.

Outside of work, Dr Fernanda enjoys keeping an active lifestyle. She is likely to be found outside playing volleyball, practising Pilates, or walking with her husband and dog along the beach.

Dr Jeff Brown grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, graduating as a dentist in 1980. He then lived in London, where he owned a dental practice in the West End.

In 1986 Dr Jeff Brown moved to Sydney and practised in the city for 3 years before heading to North Sydney. He established Greenwood Dental in 1993, and the Greenwood Dental Group in 2001. Jeff now practises from West Pymble Dental Surgery once a week and Maven Dental Greenwood for the rest of the week.

Dr Brown was also the co-founder of the Australian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry, and President of the organisation for 3 years where he lectured extensively on the subject of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a past and present affiliate member of the Australian Implant, Endodontic, Prosthodontic and Periodontic Associations. Dr Brown is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

He has completed a 1-year program in Implant Dentistry at the Brener Implant Institute and a 2-year orthodontic program where he obtained his Orthodontic Diploma with honours.

Jeff believes Dental Health and Aesthetics are pivotal to general health, confidence and self-esteem. He strives to provide the highest quality of Dental Care in an environment of honesty, integrity, competence and efficiency.

Dr Brown is committed to continuing education, not only in dentistry but in all aspects of life.
Dr Brown is married with 3 children and enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym, running and swimming. He also enjoys reading, gardening, music, theatre and boating
