Meet The Team

A passionate and nurturing associate dentist, Dr Micky Saharan joined Maven Dental Ferny Grove in 2013. Graduating from University in India in 2000 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Dr Saharan completed her ADC exam four years later and has practiced in Australia ever since. Starting out in NSW she focused on developing her preventative dentistry and patient education. In 2007, Micky moved to Brisbane where her aim was to provide the most pain-free and caring dental experience possible. Additionally, Dr Saharan is fluent in Hindi & Punjabi.

Dr Saharan’s love of painting has piqued her interest in dentistry where she actively seeks opportunities to develop her skills. As a mother, she also has a passion for Paediatrics, as well as all aspects of General and Preventative Dentistry. Micky is constantly looking for opportunities to learn from both her colleagues and patients.

As a dentist, Dr Saharan is passionate about developing the people around her. She loves to help both her patients and colleagues grow by empowering and inspiring them however she can. Developing relationships is something that is important to Dr Saharan and she strives to provide a great experience for everyone at Ferny Grove Dental.

Away from her dental surgery, Dr Saharan loves spending time with her family and friends. She also has an interest in art and painting, swimming, and debating.

Since joining Maven Dental Ferny Grove as an associate dentist in 2017, Dr Mona Mikhail has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice, including fluency in speaking Arabic and understanding Arabic. She graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science in 2014, along with a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry in 2016. Dr Mikhail also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Arizona State University with Magna Cum Laude Honours, and an Associate in Arts Degree from Cerritos College.

Dr Mona's dental passions include all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in Paediatric Dentistry. She also has a keen interest in the treatment of gum disease, along with Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.

Beyond the practice, Dr Mikhail enjoys time with her husband and family in addition to travelling, animal conservation, the great outdoors, and learning more about different cultures and people.

Dr Mona is awarded and is part of the following associations:

• Recipient of the Griffith University Award for Academic Excellence (Top 5% of Graduates)

Dr Min Jee Hwang is a kind and gentle dentist who loves seeing a positive change in her patients' lives through their new smiles. She is a member of the ADA and believes everyone deserves a happy, healthy smile. Additionally, she speaks fluent Korean.

Dr Min Jee graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry in 2018. During her time at university, she spent time at the Tweed Heads Hospital Dental Clinic where she gained invaluable experience treating public patients with advanced dental complications. She then joined the team at Maven Dental Ferny Grove in early 2019.

Dr Min Jee enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but her special interests are restorative dentistry and crown and bridge work. She also provides orthodontic treatments and adjustments using Invisalign. She is introducing implant dentistry to the practice and plans to further her studies in that field.

Away from the Ferny Grove dental practice, Dr Min Jee loves spending time with friends and family and cooking for them all! She is also a talented musician that enjoys playing the guitar.

Dr Raewyn Huang is an associate dentist with experience working in rural Queensland and public dental clinics. Originally from New Zealand, she graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons Class 1). Additionally, Dr. Huang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

As your local Ferny Grove dentist, Dr Raewyn is passionate about educating patients to prevent the development of dental problems. She finds it rewarding to see patients maintain healthy smiles through simple (yet effective) preventive measures. She is also keenly interested in restorative dentistry that requires minimal intervention, because she believes a conservative approach best serves the patient’s long-term oral health.

Most of all, Dr Raewyn finds fulfilment in restoring dental health and seeing patients regain confidence in their smiles. She also enjoys working together with patients to tailor treatment to their personal goals.

When she’s not practicing dentistry, Dr Raewyn loves to listen to classical music, spend time with family and friends, and is an amateur bird enthusiast.

Dr. Wei Chen is an accomplished dentist who graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland in 2023. Before joining Maven Dental Ferny Grove on November 14, 2024, Dr. Chen gained valuable experience working as a part-time Sunday dentist at Swish Dental Mitchelton. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Chen is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Dr. Chen is deeply passionate about learning and constantly enhancing their skills to provide exceptional care to patients. Currently pursuing a medical degree, Dr. Chen aims to integrate dental and medical knowledge to deliver holistic health care.

With a strong foundation in compassionate and high-quality dental care, Dr. Chen is dedicated to helping patients feel at ease during their visits and strives to understand each individual’s unique needs. Building genuine connections and witnessing the transformative impact of a confident smile are among the many aspects of the profession Dr. Chen finds most rewarding.

Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys activities that challenge the mind and body, including chess, cycling, and programming—pastimes that help them relax and stay sharp.

Dr. Sohal is an experienced general dentist who has worked across the UK, New Zealand, and Australia in both public and private settings, gaining extensive clinical expertise and valuable cultural insight. Most recently, she founded a mobile dental service delivering essential care to schools and childcare centres throughout Southeast Queensland. The service was recognised with two Australian Achiever Awards for Excellence in Customer Service in 2023 and 2024.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sohal has trained and managed multidisciplinary teams and overseen the clinical, operational, and business functions of both dental and medical services. With more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of general dentistry, she remains dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to every patient. She is committed to lifelong learning and continually seeks opportunities to refine her skills and enhance the quality of care she delivers. Known for her attention to detail, she approaches every task with professionalism and care.

Dr. Sohal has a special interest in paediatric dentistry. She believes that dental anxiety often begins in early childhood and that early prevention and minimally traumatic treatment are essential. She has completed additional training in paediatric dentistry, enabling her to manage a broader range of children’s cases as a general dentist and reduce the need for referrals for general anaesthesia. Helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist and witnessing the confidence and relief that follow is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Sohal continues to support medical clinics through practice management work. She is also kept happily busy by her children and dogs.
