Meet The Team

Dr Noel Commins is a friendly, highly skilled dentist operating his practice from Maven Dental Maryborough. Completing his Bachelor of Dental Science in 1982 at the University of Queensland, Dr Commins spent the first few years of his career working for Queensland Health across Brisbane, Cloncurry and Townsville. In 1986, he returned to his home town of Maryborough and purchased his very own clinic.

Over the years Dr Commins has found great value and enjoyment in building strong, long standing relationships with his patients. Having grown up in Maryborough, he has a strong understanding of the local community's needs and is committed to providing them with the best in dental care.

Dr Commins extensive experience has also seen him develop special interest in the areas of crowns, bridges and root canal treatments. On top of these interests, he is continuing his professional development and has his sights set on completing further study in dental implants.

Away from his practice Dr Commins has interests in cycling, gardening, tennis and spending quality time with his kids.

Bernadine Kidston has treated her patients at Maven Dental Maryborough as a passionate Oral Health Therapist since 2022. Calling Zimbabwe home, Bernadine made the move to Australia with her family in 2000 and commenced her dental career as a dental assistant in both the private and public sectors. She also spent some time working within the dental industry in the United Kingdom where she gained extensive knowledge.  After a few years she felt the need for a new challenge and completed her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy degree at CQU Rockhampton in 2021.

Delivering a high standard of care is very important to Bernadine, her passion and enthusiasm lies with treating children of all ages and welcomes their bright energetic personalities. Bernadine takes pride in providing oral health education to all her patients and will soon be sharing her knowledge at the local primary schools too.

When Bernadine is not practising, she loves spending time camping and fishing with her husband and two children, and one day would love to take another vacation in Italy. Bernadine also enjoys baking and cake decorating.

Bernadine Kidston is part of the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists Association.

A caring and dedicated hygienist with over two decades of experience, Doreen Pearse provides comprehensive oral health care to the Maryborough community. Starting her career in New Zealand, Doreen's passion and expertise in the field quickly became evident. This led her to work alongside a periodontist, which allowed her to deepen her knowledge in periodontal care.

Doreen's clinical interests include periodontal care, ensuring that every patient leaves with a clean and sparkly smile, and dental whitening procedures. Her approach is characterised by her genuine commitment to patient care, especially for those who are nervous or apprehensive about dental procedures. 

Having worked both in New Zealand and Melbourne, Doreen brings a diverse range of experiences to her role. She often emphasises the importance of patient education, empowering her patients to take charge of their oral health.

Outside of the clinic, Doreen cherishes her time outdoors, often immersing herself in gardening or taking to the waters for a relaxing fishing session. Her creative side shines through her love for arts and crafts.

Dr Max (Narrong) Thach is a dynamic and skilled dentist at Maven Dental Hervey Bay, known for his comprehensive approach and commitment to patient care. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland in 2016, leading to a Bachelor of Dental Health Science in 2021 and a Master of Dentistry in 2023 from Griffith University.

During his placements with Queensland Health, Dr Max gained significant experience in oral surgery, extracting over 100 teeth and assisting in emergency dental care. His proficiency also extends to emergency dental and complex restorative procedures like root canals and crown placements.

Dr Max’s approach to dentistry is characterised by a deep commitment to patient comfort and a passion for preserving and restoring natural teeth, providing significant relief and improving patients' quality of life.

Originally from Adelaide, Dr Max moved to Queensland in 2014 where he began his tertiary studies. His journey reflects hard work and dedication, balancing part-time jobs throughout his education to support his ambitions.

Beyond his professional life, Dr Max has a love for learning languages, with a particular interest in Chinese and Japanese. His previous experience as a senior barista fuels his passion for quality coffee. And as a fitness devotee, he frequents the gym, ensuring he stays in healthy condition.

Dr Jeetu Verma graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences in India in 2015. Jeetu then completed his Masters in Dental Surgery in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2019.

Dr Jeetu worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Orthodontics in J N Kapoor Dental College for the last five years and previously worked as a Associate Dentist and consultant Orthodontist in various private clinics

Dr Jeetu is very passionate for dentistry especially Orthodontics and restorative work.

Dr Jeetu believes his job as a dentist is a combination of three professions: a doctor, an engineer and an artist. His favourite part of being a Dentist is meeting people from all walks of life, connecting with them, and building strong relationships based on trust and care. He enjoys helping people by either to get them out of pain, or helping them improve their smile because healthy and beautiful smile is key to overall well-being.

With years of experience and advanced training in both orthodontic treatments and restorative techniques Dr Jeetu is dedicated to improving the health, appearance, and alignment of a smile. Whether patients need restorative work to repair damaged teeth or orthodontic treatments like braces or clear aligners to perfect their smile, Dr Jeetu will always try to offer customised solutions that address both short-term and long-term dental goals.

Outside of work Jeetu likes to spend time with his family, including traveling, and watching movies together. He enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking for his family, reading inspirational books, and doing wire bending art work.

He believes that its always better to keep balance in the Triangle of Life which include God, Family and Vocation.
