Meet The Team

Dr Gerard Meyer has more than 25 years’ experience in the dental industry. After graduating from the prestigious University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, Dr Meyer established successful practices in both the United Kingdom and South Africa. Gerard began operating his practice from Maven Dental Port Lincoln in 2015.

Dr Meyer’s philosophy regarding dentistry is to make every patient’s visit educational and as positive as possible. Gerard is very experienced at helping nervous patients and believes in creating a comfortable environment so his patients are at ease when they visit.

Dr Meyer is passionate about all things dentistry but has a keen interest in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Even with his experience, he knows that there are always areas he can improve. He regularly attends courses and conferences across the country to further his knowledge and skills to continue providing high-quality treatments for his patients.

Away from his practice, Gerard loves spending time with his wife and three children. You can also find him keeping fit by cycling and paddle boarding, or in the great outdoors camping with his family. He also loves good food, good wine, and good company!

Dr Garry Hibble has been providing dental care and service to patients on the Eyre Peninsula for over 37 years. Dr Hibble graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1977 with a Degree in Dentistry. He spent the first years of his dental career working with the School Dental Service treating students at Cowell, Cleve and Warramboo Area Schools and Wirrulla Primary School before entering private practice in 1979.

During the course of his dental career, Dr Hibble has gained a wealth of experience working in remote and indigenous communities. In earlier years, he spent time volunteering at Cairns’ Wuchopperen Dental Clinic (QLD) and in Coober Pedy (SA) working with indigenous communities to provide dental health services. Later on, in 2013 and 2014, Dr Hibble travelled to the remote islands of Vanuatu where he provided volunteer dental treatment to the local communities.

Passionate about dentistry and delivering the highest level of care to his patients, Dr Hibble continues to further his professional development. Keeping up to date with the latest in dental techniques and technology, he regularly attends educational courses and training. In 2005 Dr Hibble went on to complete his Certificate in Clinical Dentistry.

Dr Lincoln Xu is a talented young dentist that is eager to continue his dentistry career. Lincoln was born and raised in Adelaide before moving to the Gold Coast to study. After completing his Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science in 2017 he continued to study and graduated with a Master of Dentistry in 2019 achieving academic excellence awards along the way.

Whilst Lincoln is a young dentist he has previously worked in some challenging environments. He spent time at the Gold Coast University Hospital before moving to the ‘Peanut Capital of Australia’, Kingaroy. Whilst in rural Queensland Lincoln gained valuable experience helping patients with complex dental cases start smiling again. Dr Xu still travels to rural Queensland volunteering his time to help remote and less fortunate communities.

Dr Xu is experienced in all aspects of dentistry but is passionate about preventative dentistry and education. He also enjoys oral surgery, restorative dentistry and helping anxious patients. He believes in a holistic approach to dentistry and developing treatment plans that will deliver the best outcomes for his patients' overall wellbeing.

Away from dentistry Dr Xu is a huge sports fan. You’ll find him catching up on AFL, NBA & NFL on his days off. He also loves cooking and keeping fit at the gym.

Dr Dominique originally completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours and went on to complete her Bachelor of Dentistry. Having worked in the field of dentistry in Sydney for over 27 years in areas including dental assisting, practice management and as a dentist for over 13 years, Dr Dominique is a highly skilled dentist with extensive knowledge and technical expertise in all aspects of general dentistry. Dedicated to expanding her knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest innovations in dental practice, she actively participates in continuous education, seminars and conferences around the world.

Passionate about all aspects of dentistry, Dr Dominique is particularly interested in the latest digital smile design, cosmetic dentistry, and cosmetic orthodontic treatment. She utilises all aspects of these treatments to create unique beautiful functional smiles. Additionally, Dr Dominique loves prosthodontic and paediatric dentistry, and she is driven to provide the highest possible standards of dental health care.

Dr Dominique takes great pride in educating her patients on the importance of oral health and seeing their self-confidence improve through dentistry. She has a knack for helping anxious, dental-phobic patients feel comfortable while receiving dental treatment and enjoys developing trusting relationships that enable patients to overcome anxiety.

Outside of her practice, Dr Dominique is passionate about the ocean, surfing, snowboarding, physical fitness and scuba diving. She enjoys all outdoor activities and loves winding down with a good book and a glass of wine.

Dr Yun Oh is a compassionate and skilled dentist at Maven Dental Port Lincoln. Dr Yun completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at The University of Adelaide, with her studies spanning from 2019 to 2023.

Her journey in dentistry is complemented by her diverse roles during her dental school years, where she worked as a private tutor and a dental assistant. Her time in clinics allowed her to absorb valuable insights and techniques from various dental professionals, enriching her practical knowledge and approach to dentistry.

Born in South Korea, Dr Yun moved to Perth for secondary school, and then to Adelaide for dental school. Her rural placement led her to Port Lincoln, during which she became captivated by the charm and community of our local area, convincing her to move here after graduating.

Clinically, Dr Yun has a special interest in managing anxious patients, a passion stemming from her own experiences with dental anxiety as a child. She finds it incredibly rewarding to help patients overcome their fears and ensure their comfort during dental procedures. Additionally, Dr Yun is a firm advocate of preventive dentistry, educating patients about dental health and its impact on overall well-being.

What Dr Yun enjoys most about her job is the ability to restore both function and confidence in her patients, and the joy of seeing their bright smiles post-treatment. She is dedicated to minimising discomfort and making dental visits a positive experience.

Outside of her professional life, Dr Yun has a keen interest in culinary arts, enjoying cooking and baking while experimenting with new recipes from YouTube. With her move to Port Lincoln, she is excited to explore outdoor activities like surfing and paddleboarding, embracing the coastal lifestyle and the natural beauty of the region.
