Meet The Team

Dr Michael Bowes originally graduated from the University of Queensland with a biomedical science degree before moving to Sydney to pursue his dental qualifications in dentistry. After graduating with honours from the University of Sydney in 2005 he spent a year abroad in the United Kingdom practicing in a maxillofacial hospital in the areas of oral and reconstructive surgery. Upon his return to Australia, he obtained his orthodontics degree through the University of Queensland.

Dr Bowes is committed to his professional development and regularly attends continuing education courses to remain up to date with the latest advances in orthodontics. In addition to his other services, Dr Bowes is an accredited Invisalign® orthodontic treatment provider.

Outside of his practice, Dr Bowes spends quality time with his family. When time permits he keeps active through bushwalking and surfing and has a passion for travelling the world.

Dr Oliver originally graduated from the University of Queensland in 1998 with a dental degree (honours) and the beginning of his career working private practices across Brisbane and the United Kingdom. After discovering his interest in orthodontics, he went on to complete his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Queensland becoming a registered specialist in orthodontics.

Dr Oliver regularly attends orthodontic conferences to ensure he remains up to date with the latest in technologies and treatment philosophies. This continual professional development ensures he only provides his patients with treatments that are based on the best available scientific evidence.

Outside of his practice, Dr Oliver participates in a range of hobbies including tennis, sailing, cycling and music. He is also a doting father to three wonderful children, who he is enjoys spending quality time with.

Dr Vanessa Brown is an experienced Orthodontist with a wide skill set. She is comfortable treating patients of all ages and loves helping her patients achieve their ideal smile!

Vanessa grew up in Brisbane and where she enjoyed riding horses and family holidays on North Stradbroke Island. In 1992, she completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) at QUT and began working as a hydraulic & coastal engineer. After a few years, she was drawn to continue the family tradition and enter the dental industry. In 2000, Vanessa graduated from dentistry at the University of Queensland (Hons) and started practicing both publicly and privately around Brisbane. During this time she also spent a few years living in Hong Kong.

Dr Brown’s Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics was also completed at the University of Queensland. As a registered Orthodontist and a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, she values continuing education and regularly attends conferences and courses to maintain and develop her skills with advancing technology.

Beyond Orthodontics, Vanessa continues to enjoy horse riding, competing in dressage and eventing. It is a family affair, with her two daughters also competing, and her husband is an Eventing Official with Equestrian Australia. She also still loves spending time at Straddie with her family, getting over there as often as they can, and also traveling further afield.
