Hervey Bay Dental Assistant Rallying for a Cause

Four days of rally adventure from the Fraser Coast into the bush and back. That’s what Maven Dental Hervey Bay’s Summer Trinnaman will be facing from the 15th of October.

Summer, will be sharing the driver’s seat with her partner Mitchell Ferrier and friend Jake Geraghty in the Coast to Country Dunga Derby in support of Rally for a Cause. Participating in the Dunga Derby is a family tradition with car #44, better known as "Derbydore”, first appearing in the 2016 rally. 2020 marks the start of a new generation with Summer, Mitchell and Jake making their debut in car #44 as the youngest team in the fleet.

“The car has been passed down to us to carry on the legacy as of 2020. The Dunga Derby is a good way to make new friends and have a blast driving through small towns putting smiles on people’s face.”

The Dunga Derby is a major fundraising event held on the Fraser Coast annually. The aim of the event is to support the Rally for a Cause charity in their efforts to assist local families with life-limiting medical conditions.

This year’s event is a special doubleheader with teams from the Sunshine Coast joining the derby. The rally’s route is a well-guarded secret, but the 75 teams are expecting to travel over 1300km’s over the four days. Summer and the team are the youngest in the fleet and they're excited to give back to the local community.

“We’re excited to raise funds that go towards helping the community that has helped support so many locals throughout the years. #44 Derbydore has been part of the Dunga Derby community since 2016 and has raised thousands of dollars so we’re looking forward to building on that.”
