Meet The Team

Dr Tommie Strydom was born and raised on a farm in South Africa and attended school in Cape Town. He obtained his dental degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 1998, following which he worked in private practice from 1998 – 2007.

In 2007 Tommie immigrated to Australia and worked for the South Australian Dental Service as a District Dentist in Mount Gambier. In 2009 he moved to Coffs Harbour after completing his Australian Dental Council exam in Sydney in 2008.

As a father, he is extremely passionate about the oral health of children and enjoys educating and counselling children and adults on dental health, plaque control, oral hygiene and nutrition.

Away from the practice, Tommie enjoys kayak fishing, photography, wood working and spending time with his gorgeous daughter.

Dr William Ching joins the Maven Dental Park Beach team as an Associate Dentist. Dr William Ching is a warm, easy going person who likes to add a bit of humour to his appointments. Dr William first completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Science), Diagnostic Radiology (Honours), in 2013. Shortly after this he was accepted into the Doctor of Dental medicine program at University of Sydney, graduating in 2018.

Dr William enjoys providing quality care to each and every patient, as he strives to ensure his patients improve their oral health. Dr Ching enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and working with each individual patient to assess and pursue their treatment plans.

Outside of the practice, William enjoys a game of Tennis. She also enjoys tabletop games and Art (Charcoal).

Dr. Quintin Wilson is a Visiting Dental Surgeon that has restricted his practice to providing Oral Surgery procedures. Quintin has followed is passion in this area of dentistry by completing a Masters degree in Oral Surgery and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants. Quintin’s focus is on wisdom teeth removal, dental implants and other Oral Surgery procedures. Quintin holds appointments at the Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie Hospitals as well as Baringa Private Hospital, where he provides Oral Surgery services under general and local anesthetic.

Born in Bellingen, Quintin moved away from the area during his service in the military and subsequent early dental career. He was delighted to return to his hometown in 2016 on the Mid North Coast.

When not at work Quintin enjoys cycling, travel and spending time with his two boys, Jack and Harry.

Dr Shantanu Pradhan has joined the team at Maven Dental Park Beach as a passionate, dedicated, and empathetic associate dentist offering the team a wealth of knowledge. Dr Pradhan originally studied a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Auckland in 2015 and went on to study a Bachelor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney graduating in 2021.

After his studies, Dr Pradhan spent time conducting research, volunteering, and working within private practice where he has been able to expand his clinical knowledge.

As a dentist, Dr Pradhan He takes time to listen to his patients needs and their circumstances. He is focused on achieving the best treatment outcome for his patients by providing exceptional care and fostering positive dental experiences.

Although he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, Dr Pradhan is particularly interested about restorative and emergency dentistry. He finds it extremely rewarding that with his skill set, he can get someone out of pain. He says ‘Transforming someone’s smile is a bonus’.

Away from the practice, Dr Pradhan enjoys spending time playing tennis, swimming, and hiking.

Dr Aishwarya Palani is an Associate Dentist practicing from Maven Dental Park Beach in Coffs Harbour. She moved away to Bendigo for university, gaining a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and a Master of Dentistry from LaTrobe University.

She has since returned to Coffs for both the work and the beautiful beaches!

Dr Aishwarya is a friendly, easy-going clinician who loves problem-solving. Some of her most enjoyable interactions with patients are routine fillings and toothache appointments, where she can get them out of pain by the time they walk out of the clinic. Most of all, Dr Aishwarya enjoys seeing patients gain confidence in their smile and making them less anxious about dentistry.

Outside of work, Dr Aishwarya loves cooking and baking, and simply being by the beach.

Dental hygienist, Estelle Venter, was welcomed to the Maven Dental Park Beach team in October 2017. Originally from South Africa, Estelle completed her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at the University of Stellenbosch in 1987.

Since graduating, Estelle has gone on to gain over 30 years’ experience. Her career has seen her live and work in Namibia (1994) where she was the president of the Dental Hygiene Association and gain extensive experience in general dentistry, periodontics (5 years) and Orthodontics (3 years).

As a hygienist, Estelle is passionate about making a difference to her patients’ oral health. She continuously strives to provide the highest level of care and holds clinical interests in periodontics. Estelle is also a member of the Dental Hygiene Association of Australia.

Outside of the practice, Estelle enjoys spending her time reading, going to the gym and doing yoga.

Helen has lived in Coffs Harbour for 30 years, where she raised her three lovely daughters. When the youngest started school she re-commenced her dental assisting career, after having put it on hold for 16 years.

With 20 years dental experience, 11 of them with the Park Beach team, Helen has witnessed first hand many positive changes in dental care and oral hygiene over this time, and is always excited to learn and implement new techniques and training methods.

She especially loves the family practice continuity, seeing small children grow into adulthood and then bringing in their own babies for check-ups, the most natural thing in the world and very special to all of our team.

Away from the practice, Helen enjoys spending valuable time bouncing around with her two precious grand-daughters. She also enjoys practicing yoga, walking her dogs, cooking, sewing and live music.

Shelly was born and raised in Coffs Harbour and joined the Park Beach team in 2014 bringing with her 8 years experience in dental nursing.

Shelly has always welcomed the opportunity to expand her knowledge of the dental industry, having previously built on her understanding of oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. With a keen interest in her ongoing professional development, Shelly embraces every new opportunity with enthusiasm and looks forward to sharing her learnings with patients.

Away from the practice, Shelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, exploring their local community and appreciating the beauty of the Coffs Coast. She makes the most of the summer weather by enjoying the outdoors, with regular visits to the beach and long walks with her family and their pet dog.
