If you receive a Government Benefit such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, your child may be eligible. You can easily check this by calling your nearest Maven Dental clinic or by filling out the form below.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

Services covered by the CDBS include exams, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures – for children aged 0-17 years.

*Please note that the practice will contact you directly before your appointment to confirm eligibility for CDBS. Ensure you have your Medicare number handy.

What's covered by CDBS? 

The CDBS provides individual benefits for a range of services, including

  • examinations
  • x-rays
  • cleaning
  • fissure sealing
  • fillings
  • root canals and extractions.

Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, and cannot be paid for any services provided during a stay in hospital (including day surgery).

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a government program that covers part or the full cost of some dental services for eligible children.

The scheme allows for $1,095 of dental cover per eligible child over a two calendar year period.

  • CDBS is available for children between the ages of 0 and 17 years old
  • The benefit is available to those children who are eligible for Medicare
  • The family of the child must receive an applicable government payment, for example, the Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A).

A range of services can be provided under the CDBS, including:

  • examinations
  • x-rays
  • cleaning
  • fissure sealing
  • fillings
  • root canals and extractions.

Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, and cannot be paid for any services provided during a stay in hospital (including day surgery).

If your child isn’t eligible for the CDBS, we encourage you to speak with your local Maven Dental practice and ask if any additional offers are available.

Bulk billed dental items are subject to Medicare requirements.
Children must be aged between 0-17 years
There are limitations to certain items numbers being performed
Up to $1,095 benefit over two consecutive calendar years per child
Covers examinations, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures. Many of these services have claiming restrictions.
Does not cover Orthodontic and Cosmetic dental.
