Dr Peter Clark Ryan

Dr Peter Clark Ryan is one of the principal periodontists at Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care and brings with him over 35 years' of dental experience. Originally graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1976 (QLD), Dr Clark Ryan began his career in the Royal Australian Air Force in Malaysia until 1979.

During the course of his career Dr Clark Ryan has worked in a number of varying roles including:

Dr Peter Clark Ryan is one of the principal periodontists at Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care and brings with him over 35 years' of dental experience. In addition to this, he has also completed further studies, specialising in the area of implant dentistry. Since gaining his specialist qualifications in 1982, Dr Clark Ryan has played a very active role within his field and continues to seek out new opportunities to further his professional development.

Dr Rachel Garraway

Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care welcomed Dr Rachel Garraway to the team as one of its principal periodontists. Dr Garraway graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland. After spending time in Toowoomba working in private practice, she went on to complete her specialist degree in periodontics.

Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care welcomed Dr Rachel Garraway to the team as one of its principal periodontists. Dr Garraway graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland. Dr Richard Grant-Thomson joined the Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team as a principal periodontist. Originally graduating as a dentist from the University of Queensland in 1991, Dr Grant-Thomson began his dental career in the Royal Australian Air Force as a dental officer where he worked for 10 years. Even during the completion of his specialist qualifications, he was awarded the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation prize for his publication on periodontal treatment in 2001.

Before completing his post graduate training in periodontics at Griffith University, Dr Chen spent 5 years working across a number of community health centres and private practices in Melbourne.

Michelle Fraser

Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care welcomed Michelle Fraser to the team in 2001 as a periodontal hygienist. Michelle completed her dental hygiene qualifications at the University of Alberta, Canada in 1991. Prior to moving to Australia, she spent six years working in a general private practice in Edmonton, Alberta.

Outside of dentistry Michelle is an avid fundraiser and has participated in a number of fundraising events including the Kokoda Challenge and the Oxfam Trailwalker.

Elizabeth Payne

Primarily working in the Ipswich practice, Elizabeth (Liz) Payne joined the Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care in 2005. Since graduating in 1990, Liz has gained a wealth of experience working in both public and private sector practices, including specialist dental practices. Placing a high value on her professional development she has also gained further qualifications in the areas of local anaesthesia, orthodontics, oral health education and dental radiography.

Jeremy Wheaton

Graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science in 2000, Jeremy Wheaton has gone on to gain a wealth of experience. Before joining the Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care team in 2007, Jeremy worked across a number of practices including general dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics and specialist HIV/Oncology dental hospital services.

Outside of work Jeremy enjoys competitive road cycling and watching the rugby.

Sonia Murray

Sonia Murray is the highly passionate and driven practice manager at Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care (across all three locations). Sonia began her dental career in 2002 as a dental assistant, obtaining her Certificate III in Dental Assisting the following year through the Australian Dental Association.

Sonia Murray is the highly passionate and driven practice manager at Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care (across all three locations). Sonia began her dental career in 2002 as a dental assistant, obtaining her Certificate III in Dental Assisting the following year through the Australian Dental Association.

After a number of years working as a dental assistant (Queensland Teachers Union Health), Sonia was offered an opportunity to step into a management role and help Dr Mark Smith open a new dental practice in Nundah. She pursued this role up until 2008 when she accepted the position of Treatment Coordinator at Perio Care. By 2014 she had been promoted to Front Office Manager and in 2015 became the Practice Manager.

In her role, Sonia enjoys being able to work alongside remarkable periodontists who offer a wealth of knowledge and experience. She also greatly appreciates being able to take on new opportunities that they offer. Valuing her professional development, she has her sights on completing her Diploma of Practice Management.

Sonia holds a Practice Advantage membership with Australian Dental Association Queensland and is a member of Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce.

Away from the practice, Sonia enjoys travelling the world, practising yoga, spending days at the beach with her partner, and spending time with her two Siamese cats. She is also looking forward to welcoming her first child in May 2018.

Tracey Hua

Tracey Hua graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland in 2010. From an early age, she was drawn dentistry because of its hands-on nature and the opportunities to improve people’s oral health.

Tracey has a fun and cheerful approach to dentistry, instilling confidence in even the most nervous patients. She focuses on providing the highest quality of care while still giving patients a gentle, positive experience.

Outside of work, Tracey is quite the fitness enthusiast as she loves to rock climb and cycle. She also likes to travel and is quite the foodie.
